Dragons!

Everything I've been working on lately has been digital and slow going. I'm doing a collaboration with Kristian Olson this month that is going to rock. I'll post examples from that in the not too distant future. But for now, here is something that I've been putting a lot of time into, a weeklong post dedicated to Dragon art.

Aeron- The Dragon posts on Monster brains are really good. I love some of the Japanese Dragon images, even though every yahoo with a soul patch is getting them tattooed on them- and usually poorly don ones too.

Yea, it's sad when something good gets sucked into popular culture. It becomes a copy of a copy of a copy of itself so many times that when you finally get around to seeing the original, it's hard to distance yourself from it.

I've stumbled across a lot of old old artwork with dragons that struck my interest enough to feel it was worthwhile to really push it out to the crowd. I think after this post the perceptions some people have about dragons and what dragon art is will change... hopefully. It isn't all crappy snowglobes with wizards and dragons.

The art is gorgeous; I have several books of japanese prints, and they are amazing (I think at least one of the dragons you've posted is one I've seen in there....)
