Quickies

I did these very quickly with a bamboo stick and a Japanese brush. Maybe it's the beautiful spring weather, but I have been having a hard time working on long-term projects. Just the idea of working on something for so long drives me insane. Anyway there's some pieces coming up that, when finished, should be pretty cool-or maybe not.

Hey Marek, I really like your designs. They would make awesome costumes and props for a weird sience-fiction scenario.

I really dig the style of the costumes. I could picture those characters in the background of the top one actually being giant towers whose bodies are temples with spiraling staircases for arms and strangely decorated rooms on their insides.

Yeah I like the designs. I do think, however, that the designs call for a cleaner approach to the actual drawing. I'm thinking of maybe a rougher beardsley, or euro comics from the 70s ( can't think of names).Something kind of stark, that makes the blacks really pop off the page.

cool, I've been doing this design for about 10 years now and it's been going through many reincarnations. It's like something I do automatically. Another ink that has those dudes, that's a little more clearer is 'Aristocrates'(somewhere on my blog from '07). I even made a sculpture of one of the characters. I reckon' by the time I'm half-way blind I'll be cutting them out of paper-like Matisse. Anyway thanks for the imput.
