Skull Bot

I started drawing these Skull Bots back in 2001. I suppose my idea was about an invading horde of reanimated necro bio-mechs constructed and driven by who knows what. I wanted to keep them kinda scratchy and crude. And I used cheap paints and such. The newer ones turned out a slightly more refined and rendered than initially intended. I kinda like this one…

That would make an awesome scene! You should consider trying your hand at a composition involving that concept. Have designs like the one pictured in this post, set in a three dimensional space, grabbing people, etc.

Looking at old pulp sci fi covers could give you some good inspiration.

Looks cool, mebbe they raid zoos to steal useful bones from the exotic animals there!

I like the color background with the black & white form thing. Also, your stuff is always interestingly "flat" but it's rendered like it's 3D, it's very distinctive. Neat.

Heyy! I appreciate the comments andd insight. But yeah…I suppose it would be cool to give these things more of an environment and some action. At the moment, I sorta see these flat pieces as portraits or a creature being presented in a field guide. That could be an excuse though…taking the easy way. I really can't draw all that well, so’s I’m stuck in certain modes. Plus I’m lazy. But I suppose it could’nt hurt to expand alittle…
